The Effect Of Differences In The Types Of Fishing Line Bait (Handline) On The Results Of The Fishing In Bintaro Village, Ampenan District, Mataram City

Abstract

Fishing rods in Bintaro village are often also referred to as night fishing rods. The number of fishing rod units continues to increase every year. This increase occurs because the operation of the fishing rod (night fishing rod) has several advantages, one of which is that the cost of fishing operations is relatively small. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of different types of handline fishing baits on catches, the most effective baits and get the most catches, and the feasibility of fishing rods in Bintaro kecamatan Ampenan kota Mataram.  The study was designed using a Complete Randomized Design (RAL) with 3 treatments and 7 repeats, namely P1 (squid bait), P2 (lemuru fish bait), P3 (feather bait or artificial bait). The feasibility of fishing rods was analyzed using the B/C Ratio. The squid bait is used in the live state, while the lemuru fish bait is in a dead state. The results of the study the best treatment for effective catches and getting the most catches, namely using squid bait, got a total of 37 catches with 4 different types of fish. The results of the B/C ratio (3,403) show that the handline fishing business generates a profit so that it is feasible to run
