Tilapia is one of high economic value fish that important to freshwater fish business. Feeding efficiency using alternative materials can reduce production costs, however, needs to pursue the required nutritional value. Several methods utilized the papaya leaf powder addition are used to improve feed efficiency, including optimizing digestion and absorption of food and increase the efficiency of the protein. The research result shows that the feed utilization efficiency during the maintenance period (30 days) was significantly different in each treatment, namely, 0%, 2%, 3% and 4% of papaya leaf powder addition. The best result is the 2% addition, which can improve the utilization efficiency by 36.65%, increasing the protein efficiency ratio to 3.24% and increasing the relative growth rate to 3.567%. the results of this research are that salinity in the rearing media influences the survival of tilapia seeds (Oreochromis niloticus) and salinity in the rearing media influences the gill morphology of tilapia seeds (Oreochromis niloticus).
